Focused Measures of Performance to Advance Quality and Patient Safety

The Minnesota Medical Association Foundation is embarking on an ambitious project to support the migration of safety and quality measures in Minnesota to a more focused and clinically relevant set of measures that will more effectively drive safe and high-quality care while reducing inefficiencies. Focused Measures of Performance to Advance Quality and Patient Safety seeks to redesign measurement in Minnesota with a focus on reducing variation, decreasing administrative costs, driving improvement and improving patient safety and quality. The project is envisioned to serve as a model that can be replicated in other states using the applied process or learning from the results.
